Benefits for Livestock and Livestock Producers:

QLF Liquid Supplements serve a wide range of nutrition needs and are fed in both free choice and force-fed management systems. The products' uses are defined by Feeding Directions specified on Guaranteed Analysis Tags as well as product support material. QLF Liquid feeds have unique advantages because they impact livestock rations positively in two ways: nutritionally and physically:

  • Rumen Functionality: Liquid supplements increase the intake and utilization of the rest of the ration.
  • More Uniform Nutrient Distribution in the Supplement as well as in the Final Feed Mixture: There is no segregation or uneven mixing of a liquid supplement due to differences in particle size and density. With proper quality control, a liquid supplement can be produced which will remain stable and uniformly mixed over an extended period of time. A liquid supplement also will mix evenly with dry ingredients when making the final feed mixture.
  • Improved Physical Characteristics of the Ration: Maintains consistent feed consumption and minimizes problems related to separation of ration ingredients and accumulation of fines. Minimizing the accumulation of fines is especially important with the addition of drugs to rations. With a liquid supplement, there is no way an animal can get the drug or urea separated from the rest of the ration.
  • Increased Ration Density: Use of liquid feed supplements makes more dry matter space available in the ration for grain and eliminates use of low quality carriers in the dry supplement.
  • Higher Fat Levels: Higher fat levels can be added to liquid feed supplements than dry feed supplements. Liquid feed supplements are also an excellent vehicle for handling fat without incurring the expense of installing insulated, heated-fat tanks.
  • Decreased Feed Wastage: Feeders report shrink or feed losses in dry feeds of as much as 2%. With a liquid supplement, there is little or no shrink in handling. Likewise, when added to the final feed mixture it aids in reducing loss of other feed materials. Moist, conditioned feed is not dusty and reduces feed loss in handling and feeding..
  • Biological Availability: The soluble forms of phosphorus and sulfate forms of trace minerals are more available to the animals. Urea is better utilized from liquids because of dispersion throughout the feed and because of being in intimate contact with quick energy sources such as molasses or grain. The use of Timed ReleaseĀ® NPN allows increased utilization of protein from urea..
  • Improved Feed Palatability: Use of liquid feed improves the texture of mixed feeds so that animals accept them better. Dustiness is eliminated and the mixture stays more uniformly mixed.
  • Lower Cost Handling and Mixing: The cost of storing, conveying, and mixing liquids is lower than the cost of handling dry ingredients. Accurate proportioning equipment is available for adding liquids; either in a continuous mix or batch mix system.
